Colorless green screens zoom enthusiastically: Engaging children in virtual outreach

Erika Exton (HESP), Kathleen Oppenheimer (HESP), Lauren Salig (NACS), and Craig Thorburn (LING)

All grad students are invited to come discuss plans for the coming year. Topics will include: student-led activities (outreach, writing groups, ...?); plans for formalizing student membership in the LSC and establishing an elected Graduate Student Board; Language Science Day; Winter Storm 2022. 1st and 2nd year students who are now on campus for the first time are especially encouraged to attend!

Come to the LSC on Tuesday mornings to enjoy coffee and pastries, and reconnect with colleagues you haven't seen in person for a year!

As part of LSC's review process, all graduate students are invited to meet with our external reviewers to discuss their perspective on LSC's current graduate education programs, the recommendations of the graduate education committee, and other ideas for the future of LSC graduate education programs.

Over the last several months five committees (comprising 37 faculty and students) have been meeting to evaluate LSC's activities and discuss priorities for the future.

Talk and discussion will last one hour. At 3:30 we will have a brief Q&A with Ewan about his career path since completing his PhD at UMD.
