Language and Music: What *Is* the Connection
Abstract: Early in my career, I got pretty excited about links between processing of language and music. But evidence for these links, even in my own research, has been mixed. Over the last (mumble mumble) years, I've gradually reached the conclusion that this is because I've been asking the wrong questions, or at least asking the right questions wrongly. I'll review some twists and turns in my own ideas about language/music relationships and offer my current thoughts on how we might better understand cross-domain relationships between language and music.
