Revisiting Cognitive Control and Parsing: Evolution of Ideas in Language Science

Abstract: In this talk, I'll take a stroll down memory lane, focusing on how our views on cognitive control and parsing have evolved since the publication of a key paper. We'll dust off old assumptions, examine where we were wrong, what we got right (or at least, not yet wrong), and the exciting paths that have unfolded since. Join me for reflections on the development of ideas and the rewarding process of scientific refinement and discovery, which has shaped our understanding of how cognitive control contributes to sentence processing and comprehension (a crucial aspect I didn't describe 20 years ago).

Talks begin at 12:30 PM, with lunch served at 12:15 PM. Vegetarian options available. Let us know if you have other dietary restrictions.
