LangSci Lunch Talk: Sudha Rao (CS)

Time:
Thursday, March 08, 2018 - 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Location:
2130 H. J. Patterson (LSC)

Learning to ask good clarification questions

Abstract: Inquiry is fundamental to communication, and machines cannot effectively collaborate with humans unless they can ask questions. In the field of natural language processing, despite decades of work on question answering, there is relatively little work in question asking. In this talk, I will describe a new clarification questions dataset we created for learning this task. I will also describe our ongoing work on using neural network based models for generating clarification questions.
