Taliaferro hall.

On November 18th the Maryland Language Science Center  opened its door to students and faculty in in its temporary space in 0121 Taliaferro Hall. The inaugural event in the LSC was the HESP Happy Hour Toolkit Series on E-prime led by Nina Hsu (CASL). We encourage groups or individuals to take advantage of this space for their research or meetings.

LSC currently has two smaller rooms for meetings of up to ten people, and a larger conference room that can host presentations or meetings for up to 40 people. Two offices house the Center Manager and the Assistant Director, and a small suite of additional rooms will soon be available a research space.

The temporary space can host research group meetings, student or faculty committee meetings, brown bag lunches or presentations, space for visiting scholars in any of the departments involved with the center, language science coffee hours  etc. If your group would wish to make use of and meet in our new space please e-mail the center manager, Judi Gorski at jcgorski@umd.edu for scheduling and availability.

A larger space dedicated to LSC is expected to be available by the 2014-15 academic year.
