Nick is a Ph.D. candidate in the Second Language Acquisition program and a Senior Faculty Research Specialist working in Cognitive Neuroscience, SLA, and Psychometrics at the University of Maryland Applied Research Lab for Intelligence & Security (ARLIS, formerly Center for Advanced Study of Language (CASL)). He is also a certified MR Operator at the Maryland Neuroimaging Center. His research interests include issues such as lexical access, speech perception, executive control, and psychometrics. His papers have been presented at conferences such as the Second Language Research Forum, The Society for the Neurobiology of Language, Conference for the American Association for Applied Linguistics, and the Conference for the European Second Language Association, and published in journals such as the Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, Canadian Journal of Experimental Psychology, Frontiers in Psychology and the International Journal of Innovation in English Language Teaching and Research.
