Donate here to support the Undergraduate Research Fellowship! The more donations we get, the more students we can support!

Language is central in our lives: how we learn, think, work and play. The languages we speak are at the heart of our individual identities. The past two years have brought these issues into sharper focus than ever before. The Maryland Language Science Center is a leader in integrating language research, bringing together one of the world’s largest and most interdisciplinary communities of faculty, graduate and undergraduate students from fields as diverse as linguistics, computer science and special education. We also emphasize student initiative and leadership, preparing students for diverse career paths and engagement from all members of our community.

In response to the pandemic and to community input, we are focusing our Giving Day efforts on soliciting funds that help to expand opportunities for students who are at the start of their careers, many of whom have missed out on opportunities due to the pandemic. Many of us can point to small acts of support from peers and mentors that helped to set us on the path to where we are today. A donation of $10 or $50 or $200 could help support a student to carry out a project or travel to an in person event, or devote more time to research.
