Dave Baggett to deliver UMD Winter Commencement Address

With the paint barely dry in LSC’s new home in HJ Patterson Hall, Winter Storm 2017 showed what is possible when an engaged grassroots community is combined with a space that is designed for collaboration.

We're delighted that Dave Baggett, a long time supporter of Maryland language science programs and alumnus of UMD undergraduate programs in Linguistics and Computer Science, will be the speaker at UMD's Winter Commencement ceremony on December 20th. UMD Right Now has a nice article about Dave's background and successes . For the last ten years, Dave has also been the sponsor of undergraduate summer research fellowships and year-long postbaccalaureate fellowships in the Linguistics Department.
