Space & Resources
The Language Science Center is located in the H.J. Patterson building.
We’re happy to offer MLSC rooms to our community. Rooms can be reserved for meetings, talks, research studies, defenses, poster sessions, and other events. We occasionally have spare office space for visiting scholars.
To request a room reservation, complete the MLSC Space Request Form. For questions regarding room reservations, contact Rochelle Nelson at rnelson9@umd.edu. There is no charge for hosting free events in the space.Those hosting paid events must pay a rental fee of $125 per day. This fee includes use of the LSC kitchen and space resources.
Users are responsible for keeping the space in clean and accessible condition, as community members use the space throughout the day.

Space Open Hours and Access
The LSC is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. If your event requires the doors to be unlocked outside regular business hours, please contact Rochelle Nelson at rnelson9@umd.edu.
LSC affiliated faculty, staff, and students may obtain swipe access to use the space at other times by completing the LSC Swipe Access Request Form. Swipe access also allows you to access the shared kitchen and workroom for events.
