NACLO 2025 Open Round
We are pleased to be a host site again for the 2025 North American Computational Linguistics Open competition (NACLO). Click here to learn more about NACLO 2025.
NACLO is a contest for students in grades 6-12 (although primarily targeted at grades 9-12) in which contestants solve interesting and challenging puzzles in linguistics and computational linguistics. These puzzles require no previous knowledge of linguistics or computing and can be solved by analytic reasoning alone. In solving the problems, students learn about the diversity and consistency of language, while exercising logic skills.
NACLO consists of two rounds: the Open Round (January 23, 2025), open to all interested high school and middle school students, and the Invitational Round (March 13, 2025), for students who have advanced from the first round.
Schedule:
- 09:15 AM - 9:55 AM: Report for the contest
- 10:00 AM: Contest begins
- 01:00 PM: Contest ends
