Maryland Minds: Shaping the Future of AI

Maryland Language Science Center | Artificial Intelligence Interdisciplinary Institute at Maryland (AIM), Maryland Alumni Association Tuesday, February 17, 2026 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm Clarice Smith Performing Arts Building

At the University of Maryland, we’re shaping the future of AI. But what does AI look like when it’s actually being used to solve everyday problems? Across campus, faculty, students and staff are applying AI to advance health care, strengthen food security, address global challenges and reimagine how we learn and discover. Be part of the momentum as we explore and celebrate how AI at Maryland is tackling the Grand Challenges of our time.

These fast-paced, TED-style talks spotlight the groundbreaking research happening right on Maryland’s campus to tackle real-world problems. Featured speakers include AIM Affiliates Sylvette La Touche-Howard, Tracey Zeeger, Mumu Xu, and AIM Director Hal Daumé III.
