Stefanie Kuchinsky (PhD in Psychology, University of Illinois) is a Research Investigator in the National Military Audiology and Speech Pathology Center at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Bethesda, MD. She also holds appointments as an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Hearing and Speech Sciences at the University of Maryland and as an Research Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She uses behavioral, pupillometry, and neuroimaging methods to investigate the sensory and attention systems that support speech understanding. A major focus of her work is on using objective measures of cognitive effort to more comprehensively assess and remediate the challenges that people face during communication in adverse listening conditions.
