Polly O’Rourke’s research has focused on the neural bases of language processing, using event-related potential (ERP) technique for analyzing electroencephalographic (EEG) data. Her specific area of interest is sentence processing, examining both morphosyntactic features and structural ambiguity. She’s also examined at questions relating to second language acquisition and individual differences both in cognitive/linguistic abilities and neural response. In addition, she’s conducted research on cognitive training and the neural bases of verbal creativity.
