Laura Groth has worn many hats: researcher, technical assistance provider, coach, and education expert. With more than 15 years of experience in K-12 and higher education research, policy, and project management, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to MILE.

She earned her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Administration and Policy from George Washington University. Laura became MILE’s Managing Research Scientist in October 2024 to support MILE's research and technical assistance across Maryland. Her own research and teaching focuses on public policy and systems that support equitable and effective public schools. In her spare time she reads a lot of books and trains her cats basic circus tricks.
