Hi! I'm Davy, a freshman undergraduate at UMD majoring in Computer Science, Linguistics, and Mathematics. My main passions within the realm of language are historical linguistics, language learning, and writing systems & calligraphy. I hope to be able to work on research applying AI/ML to historical linguistics such as reconstructions of proto-languages and ancient languages, as well as harnessing the power of NLP and LLMs in machine translation. I am strongly interested in the intersection of CS, linguistics, and mathematics, and I believe that language, as the medium that connects humans together and allows us to mutually understand each other & each others' cultures, is an inalienable part of future developments in technology which grounds us to our shared humanity.
