Nataliya Stepanova, Language Science Day 2019

Nataliya Stepanova -- a Math and CS double degree student and Linguistics minor, and an alum of LSC’s PULSAR undergraduate research program -- has become the University’s sixth (ever) recipient of a Marshall Scholarship. Pandemic permitting, she will be heading to Scotland in the Fall to earn a Master’s in Speech and Language Processing at the University of Edinburgh.

Among the many UMD students graduating remotely this Spring, we congratulate several outstanding PULSAR students. Between them, they have completed a variety of majors, minors, research projects, outreach activities, and internships. And though we can't congratulate them in person, their presence has been felt and will be missed in PULSAR and in their many contributions to Language Science at UMD.

PULSAR is one year old, and the first students to graduate are heading for new and exciting endeavors in language science.

Winter has arrived, and close on its heels is the Winter Storm workshop!  Winter Storm is a free annual two-week intensive workshop for Language Scientists.
