LSLT: Philip Resnik (LING/UMIACS) & Rebecca Resnik

Join us for a moderated discussion about how language technology can be applied to improve mental health care. Philip and Rebecca Resnik co-founded the annual Computational Linguistics and Clinical Psychology Workshop (CLPsych). Their collaboration has led to a number of projects using NLP to detect depression, suicidality, and schizophrenia from language samples. We'll talk about some of that past work, and how similar approaches might be useful for tackling problems in speech language pathology. We'll also discuss how to build a successful collaboration between clinicians and computational linguists.
